This is Chinese turquoise at its best; beautiful teal blue with tiny amounts of black matrix. Blue Chinese turquoise is very beautiful in its own way, unlike North American turquoise, even the bluest Chinese turquoise still has a tiny hint of green that makes it so delicately vibrant.

Total carat weight is 11 per 10 pieces.

Most turquoise needs some form of treatment due to its softness, and there are lots of different processes. There's a "clear treat" in which acrylic resin is applied but no color is added. Which is the only type of turquoise I buy, regardless of its origin.

Please be very careful when you are buying turquoise, there are many types of imitate turquoise out there; chalk turquoise, composite turquoise, and the infamous magnesite! All are very well manufactured and mass produced, some are even made with intentional matrix to mimick the actual turquoise imperfections. Bottom line, you'll never have to worry about distinguishing between what's real and what's not on my site because every item here is properly represented and accurately described.
